Hi there i have bought a rangerover p38 today.while driving it home a eas fault came up and warning not to exceed 35 mph.the suspension whent right down too the arches.I was just wondering what too do or were too take it too i live in the merseyside area (st helens) please can anyone help.

Have a look at wheeler dealers episode recently on discovery with same problem. He fitted recon compressor but you can rebuild cheaper. (it may not be the problem) It can be your first bit of ongoing 'playing' with your p38. Welcome to the playroom!!

You need to get the fault codes read or do it yourself. Download the free EAS software from www.rswsolutions.com or I can supply you with the software on CD and a cable for £11 plus £2.67 P&P.
Most likely fault is a height sensor, but if the airbags are original they will need replacing and the compressor may be tired if it has been feeding leaking airbags.

Worth considering an EAS kicker from blackbox solutions (or on fleabay). just plug in and instantly clear (most) faults and get you going, at least to get you home or to a garage, rather than driving around on the bumpstops. A decent garage with the right stuff should clear your faults for around £25ish a time, this EAS kicker is about £69, and so far mine has more than paid for itself

Not if the compressor or diaphragm are fooked it won't. That what this sounds like to me.

Yea I know thats cheaper but putting it in as an option, as mine has failed a couple of times near work, which means i'd either have to go to the dealer nearby which charges £95+vat just to connect it to their computer, or drive 60 miles home on the bumpstops. I dont always have access to a laptop, but the kicker lives in my glovebox

You can get the seal and liner kits on fleabay, just search Range Rover EAS or something like that. Doesn't look like to bad a job to do, I think I'll be doing it the wife's P38 in the not too distant future because it can sometimes be a bit sluggish coming up to the normal drive height from the kerb side height setting.

Do a search, the seal is too hard, doesn't touch the cylinder wall when cold, so no pressure and when it does work in knackers the cylinder.
Look at www.rangerovers.net or rover renovations for top quality or for OEM, Island 4 X 4.
