hi guys, just looking for some help diagnosing a problem. I first noticed a slight lag whilst I was driving over a month ago but it seemed to go away. Then I was doing 65 on motorway and put clutch down to change gear and the whole car started vibrating (I've since noticed it also does this when I stop accelerating not just when clutch is down). There is large clunks when I change gear, whistling coming from below when I accelerate and also humming when I accelerate, anyone got any ideas?

Uj's on a propshaft would be my first place to look. Chock the wheels and jack a wheel up with the handbrake off and check for any movement on the propshafts. Also take a look at the state of the panhard rod bushes on the front axle

There's slight movement in front prop rotating, no side to side or up down movement, rear prop is solid

There will be a certain amount of rotational movement but there should be no up and down movement. If in doubt remove the whole thing and engage the difflock and take it for a spin

Just followed the steps you described and found a lot of play on rear prop, tried to remove it but one of the nuts is rounded
