HELP! Defender 110 200tdi heater matrix problems

Basically i'm replacing the heater matrix, the fans ok, but only blows cold air, it starts off hot mind you but then goes cold. Anyway, managed to get it all detached etc but cannot figure out how to get inside the box it is stored in to change the heater itself, here are some photo's to show what i mean so if anyone knows what to do it would be greatly appreciated

drill out the rivets mate and remove the top cover over the matrix.

really?... with a rivet gun of course

Ah yes of course, mechanics isn't my strong point, if it was i could of figured that out myself. I have a basic knowledge
