I can't believe a 3 point seat belt for the centre front seat costs £500

What does cost £500 is two forward facing rear seats, which are very nice indeed if you can afford them. However they take up quite a lot of space and are not practical once your 'little one' gets over 5ft 6in. My 14 year old daughter has rejected them out of hand (she wants the drivers seat!), so I'm just going to fit the inertia reel belts for the back 4 seats as the std. belts are a complete pain in the arse as they are so stiff to adjust it's impractical.

Well, we think we may have an answer to this!

We have ordered a Maxi-Cosi Priori Baby seat for 9 months to 4 years. We received the tip off from some new folk in the area who use one in their D110 ('03 model) both on the bench and front seat, apparently with no problems.

I must warn you that we haven't personally tested it on a D90, nor I believe have Land Rover certified it, and I don't think Maxi-Cosi have either, so this post is for your information only and is not a recommendation in any way. You use this information at your own risk.

 A further point of note, I hear on the grapevine that Maxi-Cosi are discontinuing this particular seat early next year and don't plan to make anything similar. This is probably because this particular seat has a lower safety rating than their other products however it does comply with ECE R44/03 (yeah, like I really know what that means  ).
Sorry for being off topic. It seems that you know yourself around maxi cosi seats. Maybe you can give me some pointers?
I've been hunting for a good car seat for a while now. I wouldn't have imagined that it will take up weeks of my time. I've short listed a a few maxi cosi seats because they seem to be the safest one on the market. Now I would rather hear your opinion than all those hype reviews that i've seen so far. Well no all reviews are bad. I've actually managed to find a blog that seems to actually use and test the seats. After reading the best maxi cosi seats post I knew I have a winner. The only issue is that I don't know which one to choose. How good is the installation? Would you recommend it?

I don’t think you’ll get a reply from the O/P
His post about child seats was sixteen years ago and he’s not been active on this forum since 2006
