Help! Boot jammed

Hi, I’m hoping someone can give me some advice please!
I left my boot slightly open so the tailgate light warning light came on. I got my brother to close it for me. All fine until I tried to lock my car. It wouldn’t lock. I noticed looking from the outside of my car a big screw from the baby stair gate stopping the boot from shutting properly. But it won’t now open either! How can I remove the object please? Tried all sorts so far

Land Rover freelander 2 GS TD4

Try using boot function on fob and pulling at boot lid at same time, you might have to push at centre point on boot to get lock to release

Joking aside...if it's jammed tight I'd be looking at working from inside if you can remove back door cover and unbolt lock door should open...
