Hi Ive got a 2005 freelander td4 and after trying to tightened my turbo hoses have accidentally overtightened my air sensor causing it to shear off.

To add fuel to the fire, I'm in Brittany at the moment. Can I drive with it like this? Can the rac do a temp fix? Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Steven

You can drive ok with the sensor disconnected electrically

If it is not airtight then you'll be loosing boost and potential for black smoke and loss of power

No, it's an air flow sensor and no oil should be in that part of the system.

Just seal it as well as possible using insulating tape etc.

Many thanks guys, still tempted to take it to the local garage to see how long a replacement part will be to 'improve' the driving for the rest of the holiday.

Cheers
