HELP -1982 110 County with 300tdi engine

Hi All, Im new to this forum and am yet to own a defender, but hopefully this will change very soon. I have been offerd a 1982 LAND ROVER DEFENDER COUNTY DIESEL that has had the engine changed to a 300tdi. Is this ok, will the drive train cope? Also what should i be looking at to ensure its a sound Landy. All help wanted, sorry if my questions have already been asked on the forum. Thanks in advance - SEAU.
