Just joined up, looking at buying a defender soon, thought i would get some info from here first.

Your buying at the wrong time of year, over the summer is usually the best time,


People are looking to buy 4x4s for winter, Defenders and series 3's are usually the most available unless your pockets are lined with Gold,

Personally I wouldn't go for anything newer than a TD5, after that you get Ford Motors and I have never really liked them but they do surprise you !

For best value your looking at either ex mod with a 2.5 na lump,

Or if your after something a little faster and razzle dazzle, a 200tdi

Parts are easy to come by, If you can, I'd stretch for a TD5, more "civilized",
