Hello all

Yet another newbie looking for some much needed wisdom that i assume is readily available here.

I'm after a motor with a green oval be it a Freelander, Disco or 90 but the trouble is i've only got about £1500 to spend, so my initial thoughts were a Disco 300tdi which seem to be abundance but i've also seem quite a few Freelander 1.8's. I'm just looking for some pointers as to what would be the best bet with my limited budget. Any advice would be much appreciated.

could get a nice 200tdi for that money,
the freelanders 1.8's were prone to headgasket problems i believe, and for my money bad style bro!
also youd never live it down on here if you chose Freelander over the disco methinks

No, the Freelander has better style by far, but you are right to point out the 1.8 petrol head gasket problems.
Your money will get you an early diesel Freelander though it will probably have a few miles on the clock. Only consider the diesel model, or if you can put up with the people-carrier crossed with a brick looks then go for a Discovery.

Another baised opinion. I've got a 90 but I still reckon you'll get fine Disco for that money. Lets see some piccies when you finally make your purchase.
