Hello all

I have been looking at this site for the last couple of days as work is a bit slow and found it very useful and you all seem very friendly so I thought I would join you .
I have got a freelander 99 td at the moment but would like a defender so the question is, do they have as many problems as the freelander or will I be better off with a defender.

Mark

hi mark
defenders have problems too, but they're generally easier / cheaper to fix on account of the engineering being more "agricultural".
for more specific advice, you need to specify which model / variant / age / mileage you are thinking of.

If a defender busts you can mend it with a big hammer and some duct tape.

If a Gaylander brakes you can mend it with a credit card.

A credit card can be a bit painful when you come to pay it off, a hammer is only painful if you hit your thumb,

Thank you all for your replys I am looking forward to doing some more posts and have lots of questions,I would like to get a 200 tdi or 300 tdi I have about £6000 to spend not sure if I should go for a 90 or 110 what are your ideas no this,as I have no experiance with these types.

Thinking about it nothing to big kids, wife, and general bits and bobs some off roading but not to harsh at first as I havn't had any experiance as yet with that in mind are there any good places to go in the essex/hertfordshire area I live near stansted airport.

All depends what you want from your LR............110 are bigger than 90's....do you need the extra room?
Ask on the Defender section............there'll be loads of guys to help you on there. I'd go for a 90.
Happy shopping :)
