Hi a new ish landrover owner here. Got my first defender last august. Enjoying reading old threads that have lots of useful advice. Changed timing belt yesterday with some help from on here.
Photo is mine from a few months ago in a friends field. - next job is to fit a winch

no cam belt went really well. I used OEM kit from craddocks. I took intercooler out after the timing cover was back on just to clean it out. The only issue was tightening the crank bolt?? my torque wrench doesnt go that high so was a bit of a guess - breaker bar and scaffold pipe.

Welcome and a nice picture of it in the mud. How did the cam belt change go did you encounter any issues, what parts did you buy, any stuck bolts, radiator in or out etc?

I regretted driving through that quickly when it filled my headlights with muddy water - only just changed them

Put a blob of paint on one of the bolt flats and another corresponding one on the pulley and keep an eye on any movement. If the bolt comes loose it can wreak the keyway and possibly scrap the crank too.

Yes that's a good idea I was going to drive a few miles and tighten it again
