Hi all,

I’m new to landyzone. I’ve wanted a defender since I was a kid and have finally managed to buy my first one. A friend has pointed me in your direction so I can learn and look after it properly.

Would be grateful for any and all top tips and any advice on who to go to and who to stay away from for servicing etc in the Essex (Colchester) area.

Where’s the best place to start?

It’s got a factory alarm and battery immobiliser which I’m guessing isn’t going to be great.

Is it a case of getting a thatcham alarm / immobiliser and a tracker. Is there anything else that can be done easily to stop people stealing it.

I’ve star reading the security posts. What would you start with?

And as others said very desirable to scumbags sadly

I like the big visible pedal guards and a tracker idea with an alarm (that somebody may take notice of)

Looks pukka mate! My advice for servicing would be stay away from everyone and do it yourself, it'll cost you a (not exactly) small fortune if you get garages to do the work on it every time!!
