lol, was a strange occurance, fell out with a member on a all marques forum got me banned again lol.
wasn't looking for a truck, had the maverick, was gonna put a few hundred in that if i had any money left when i got back from america.
had a fairly decent ppi claim come good, applied and got my passport, dream come true, vegas, dallas, denver and finish off driving across america to NY for christmas eve and christmas day coming home boxing day. so almost west coast to east coast. if i started in california and drove to vegas it would have been.
was looking at mx5's winding mrs up and decided to see what other trucks were going. see a lovely blue freelander, 50 miles from home, so drove mav up looking to px and oh my god, was the worst car i ever see. rust falling out of sunroof when you open it, whining drivers wheel, really loud, thrust bearing went in clutch cause as soon as you depress it slightly it slammed in like a sledge hammer spinning all four wheels up on the gravel. so much more, little things but all add up , like leaking rear door, literally dripping wet.
ex boss had a freelander and i did enjoy the few occasions i had the pleasure to drive it, so looked for another and found this one.
LOVE IT. its so right, for a freelander its bloody awesome lol, only things wrong with it when i got it were o/s/r window cable all meshed up inside door and same door locks but don't unlock on motor only door handle. common fault i've already learnt in the forums, so for £35 for both from scrappy i'll just replace them.
Plus it had a bald tyre osf and different compund on nsf, so had four new tyres all matching replaced and balance and all nasty vibration gone, steering wheel is straight and pulls true when let go of wheel, so happy days.
the last job, the osf anti roll bar drop link has solved all the knocking so excluding the window and door lock shes tip top. sun roof opens a bit and slows, will open with a shove but afraid to try and get it to fully open. will start another thread on that after a bit of hunting about. lol truck only done 3500 miles in last 8 months so assume lack of use.
