Hi KKK2.

I haven't found an unanswered question or a question that can't be answered in this forum yet & it does seem pretty lively. So, do you have a Landy over in the Emerald Isle?

Cheers,
Marcus.

hello, marcus and welcome to new members. cheers for the advice i have received from forum members. much appreciated. i've run out of diesel. going to purchase a jerry can this week. going to l.r. in speke hopefully to get some parts. can anyone comment them? how easy is to fit a stereo in a landy? best place to get new seats from? cheers.

Hey Monkey.

I've always found it pretty easy to fit CD players & the like into most vehicles. Just either take your power direct from the battery or from the direct line from the battery to the ignition so that you still have power when the ignition's off, otherwise you lose all your settings or have to enter the security code every time you switch off the ignition. That & fit an in line fuse & make sure you find a good earth...........Though if I'm wrong in the case of Series III Landy's, please someone let me know as I'm about to fit a CD player to mine too!

For cheap seats, try a scrappy. I've got Astra GTE seats in mine, waaaay comfy!

Hi all and thanks, Yes I have a fullymodded 200tdi 110 pick up on 35 inch tyres for offroad, I drive a 300tdi 110 hardtop as my daily day drive, and my wife drives a 7 seater disco.
We my bro and I build landrovers as a hobby also. This week we have just finished fitting a 300 tdi engine on to a lt77 gearbox in a 110 turbo. we have a 110 Hi cap with a nissan 6 cylinder in it ready for some work also.
With regards to your advice to Monkey, Marcus if you wire the cd directly to the battery and if the truck if left idle for a while then the battery can become discharged.

Good point. Should've said, if you do wire it that way & you leave your Landy for any length of time, disconnect the battery or at least anything that draws a constant (albeit small) current. I did that on my (proper) Mini when I was abroad for a few months, then got back to find I didn't know how to reset the immobiliser & couldn't find the CD player code ANYWHERE! So beware! You can always get one of those charger things that senses when the battery is in need of a charge & tops it up as & when............though that relies on the vehicle being garaged really........& they just kind of worry me. I expect to come home to find a blackened, charred wreck on my return!

Anyways, the long & short of it is, it's fairly straightforward to wire a CD palyer into a loom as simple as a series has, with a bit of thought & care.........isn't it?

Best,
Marcus.
