Hello there,

I'm collecting my '97 Disco I 300TDi Auto this afternoon... and to be honest, I'm no use to man nor beast until I do... who'd have thought, not been like this since my first Triumph Toledo (first car, more years ago than I care to mention).

I should say, although I am a complete newbie to LR, I've driven a couple of Frontera's and a Shogun previously, but for the last 7 or so years, it's been a Nissan Figaro, (you should have seen the trader's face when he looked at the trade it! ) But between DIY and running a Scout Troop here in sunny (err not) Chessington, it's not really too practical...

So, aside from getting used to the sheer size again, I just wondered what the old hands would say was the best advice for me now?

[EDIT] Errr... sorry, I meant advice and experiences of other first timers, in getting it home... [/EDIT]

M:)

:welcome2: just make sure your breakdown cover is up to date.

Chances are you'll need it in the first month of ownership, well, until you get used to mending it yourself...:D

I got my disco from Brighton just before the snow fell last year, drove it back to Redhill listening out for any strange noises along the way, but all was ok, then just as the snow started falling the starter packed up so fitted another outside my house while it was snowing lol, but since then been good as gold, and for £600 i think it was a real bargain, so yellow if your up for some green laning i think some of us are going out on sat let me know ok cheers Steve
