my lack of expertise with this piece of kit is only surpassed when I am under the bonnet. The p38 , bought a year ago with a 3 month warranty conked out soon after the expiry date. You could say it was still warm. It has`nt worked properly since. It might run till hot but it soon dies. The diagnostic tool, in the hands of some of the best auto sparkies around says nothing. The problem they think is corrosion.
The 3.5 a 2 door with 6 wheels is awaiting the mobile mechanic this afternoon. No spark.
The MOT on both will run out too soon.
the 4.2 a 4 door runs pretty well but needs quite a lot of TLC to get through a MOT.
Not being on the road these last weeks I am the laughing stock of the village. My friends have all "gone bamboo"
This is the last thing i would wish. I have been a Landy Buff for 60 years back to the days when my uncle, the stalker on Braulen used to have us ghillies, sometimes perched on top of a pile of carcasses bounce along old pony paths in the old Land Rover, en route to the larder.
I have guested on Landyzone over the years now I hope the somebody might be able to suggest a way of survival before I am forced to bin the lot.

Welcome Aboard :)

An interesting collection of LR's finest trouble makers ;) - perhaps deal with them one at a time in the relevant subforum ... but the 3.5 with no spark can't be too serious ( famous last words  ) as they are pretty simple ....:D

Pictures would be nice to see :)

Welcome:)

Quite a collection.

If I was you I would concentrate on 1 for now and get it sorted then move on.

As said previously post in the relevant section and the guys will help.
I would say the P38 be the best option for getting roadworthy first. When you do post make sure and give all relevant details of the car in question.

Oh and pics go down really well in this section especially when it’s something different, I mean the six wheels:)

Good luck.

J

What do you mean, your friends have all gone bamboo? There is a thread on euthanisms on here, is it one of them? Welcome by the way.

Scrap the pimpwagons, get yer uncle's old Series out, probably plenty of life left in that. Simples.

Welcome to LZ as well. :)

Easier said than done. Uncle abandoned the 2.4 saying it was no Willys Jeep. For a while he persisted with the Steyr Puch Haflinger. At this point in time Braulen Estate acquired the Suburu agency and issued pick-ups. Not long after they also got the Argocat agency. This combination continued till the estate was sold, long after my uncle retired. Apparently his list of pimpwagons was not reserved to RRs.
Got the 6-wheeler back on road. just. Will now have to scratch my head with the p38`s electrics. corrosion, relays, or what? . a real whitened sepulcher.
I will get round to the pics.

many thanks for your interest all. 6- wheeler had the AA diagnose corroded fuel tank causing gyp. Its a mild steel dinky job, main fuel being LPG. Mechanic was playing around with the fuse box of the p38, which flatly refused to fire. its also LPG. Has anyone figured out a viable e/v conversion? I have a strong compulsion my next set of wheels will have a hayburner under the bonnet.
