Hi,
We currently own a 3ltr RRS Autobiography.... We've been contemplating selling it. We absolutely love the car but can only really use it at weekends and it's an expensive car to be used once a week... Has anyone ever sold and then really regretted it? My head is saying sell but my heart is saying keep...

Welcome:)

And to answer, once you have been bittern, it’s to late. Especially if you happen to like it too:)

Sorry mate but you are destined to regret it if you sell, you could always down grade a bit and get a fre......elan....der.... sorry I will go and wash my mouth out now, excuse me:oops:

I'm not sure we've fallen that far

Father in law has a ahem "the above mentioned" vehicle and he loves it but we could never quite go down that route ;)

I have to carry tools constantly and my partner has a 72 mile a day commute and scratches for a parking place on arrival. Her astra is easy to park and it doesn't really matter if it takes a knock in the same way...

Eye dun't know of anyone regrettin buying er Freelander 1 or 2. If yer int UK and want a top spec Freelander 2 buy one of the last metropolis models. Or the previous name HSE Lux before they added a few bits.

The big questions is: does yer need a big car or an even bigger car?

And wot is the running cost difference? And wot would yer spend the saving ont?

A range rover is just a big Freelander after all ;)

The Evoque is il give you that ;)

The even bigger question is, what Landy that the misses will be happy with....

Defender,Disco,RR are all big buses to park/run. Free  ahem... you know the one... may be only option as far as Landys go? They will get your tools there and MRS will find it reasonable to park/drive and nat to the neighbours about. Father in law will feel empowered  and if anything goes wrong there are plenty of people that will help on here. Petrol/Diesel is another decision

This is only my (RR biased) opinion, see what other people think - especially the ones with joint-account :D

The Mrs has to use a public car park and her Astra has been hit several times. Despite us adjust the dashcam's, we never managed to get a reg yet and she is paranoid about the RR getting damaged, so doesn't feel comfortable. Fair enough, I would be miffed if it got hit but we're all in the same boat with that one. In answer to do we need a big car? Probably not but it was a boyhood dream to have one :D. We do live in a rural village though so when we did have the snow it came in very handy. Only 4x4's could really exit the village so we did a lot of shopping and giving lifts to people... Still, I'm sure had we have wanted to, we could have survived the three days we were trapped. It's not so much the running costs per se, it's just lack of use coupled with the cost. We would have a Freelander, get rid of both and just get one of those, but (and I apologise for any offence caused) it's just not as exciting.......
