Hello there! 200tdi user here!

Hi all. I've joined up on here to get some advice (and hopefully give any!) as I learn doing my project fitting a 200tdi engine.

To explain, I don't have a land rover but am attempting a camper conversion from a 1980s CVE Omni minibus. This was originally based on the 2.5l freight rover, but the head gasket was shot and the engine was seized so I'm now fitting it with a donor 200tdi.

It's a fun project and I'm hoping the support, community and availability of parts will eventually make this a much better choice of engine for this retro vehicle.

Any tips on changing the lump welcome!

A few on here don't even have a Landrover engine so you are one up on them.

Welcome.
Have a look at the gear box.... it may be a landrover type ,2 wheel drive which will help.
Take some photos of it

Thanks all. At least I know that if the project is a total failure, there will still be some value in the engine
