Hi,

I've just joined LandyZone. I have a Disco 1 and used to have a Disco 3 - I now drive too many miles and it was too expensive on fuel and had to go, but I loved it and had a lot of fun. Got the Disco 1 for a bit of green laning and weekend haulage. I like it, but would like to replace it with something a bit more basic. I was thinking of a Land Rover Lightweight. Is this a good idea? I want something that the roof can come off for summer driving, something good for green laning and good to take out in bad weather. Ideally, I'd like to spend no more than £2,500 (and even better if less!). All advice appreciated - is this a good idea?

Cheers,

Robert

should get a good one for that but always look at the bulkhead and chassis for rust.Take it on a good test drive not to every ones taste.Wont lose money on it if you keep it standard mil spec, great landys have one myself that iam restoring at the moment.Very easy to work on and parts can be got from flee bay ect.

Thanks for the info! Appreciated. What's it like to drive compared to a normal land rover? Would it be as good off road as a series 3 or defender? Good that it will retain it's value though - takes the risk away!
