Hi

Fairly new to this forum, but i have already had lots of usefull help:).

I seem to have developed a bit of a land rover fettish, getting a bit of a collection on the go now.

Started with a 06 TD4 Freelander, sold that got a new Freelander2, then bought a real landrover an 89 Fender 90 with a hatefull 19J, then for some unknown reason bought another the same.

So theyr obviously in a million bits in and arround my garage, being built into a decent 300Tdi.

I then went to an introductory off road driving day with the wife at Experience 4x4 in Inverness and she loved the beat up old disco we got to drive, so obviously i had to get one. Found a nice looking but rough running 2000 TD5 for not much money.

Thats where you guys came in, some forum lurking later i decided it needed a MAF, cleaned the MAP sensor adjusted the turbo waste gate and gave it a full service all fluids etc, Now she pulls like a train and is a daily driver:). so the plan is to turn it into an expedition/overland vehicle and go to Morrocco next year. So is there anyone on here with TD5 Disco2 spares, or offroad mods theyr looking to sell or maybe trade for an old Defender?

(was going to post that in for sale/wanted but dont have a high enough post count i think?)

Anyway im near Montrose in Scotland so anyone arround that fancys a trade,a bit of off road driving, needs a hand with their landy or just fancys a coffee and a bulls**t give me a shout :D

Ther is only one known cure.

After years of putting up with breakdowns, failed parts, rust, head gaskets, UJs, garage bills, wheels bearings, and constantly ****ing money up the wall

You eventually get so ****ed off that fetish is crushed and replaced by common sence.

You will contemplate buying something else, then you WILL buy something else.

Then you will realise it doesn't make you smile of give you that same satisfaction, nothing else has the same character or feeling.

Then you will buy another and it starts all over again.

This process time scale is directly proportional to the number of current landy that you own

Then you will realise that it's not actually a cure, but the fetish has infact got worse, and it multiples with every cycle

nope,ur foked!! im 18,and iv had a 300tdi disco 1,4.6 v8 p38 rangerover,2.25 petrol series 2A, and currently have a 1983 classic rangerover, and a series 3 88inch 2.25 diesel, for an everyday car!! and my dad is just as bad if not worse than me!!! welcome to the forum anyways! :D

It gets worse, others don't help as they think you have a Land Rover lets ditch our junk round there, namely more Land Rovers.

At one point my dad had
2x Series 2a's, one utility and a CSW.
2x Series 3's, one ex military one utility.
2x Discoverys 300tdi and Td5.
2x Range Rover classics one 200tdi and other VM

All fighting for space so he did the normal thing and got rid of the lot and bought a Volvo.

welcome to the forum, nope no known cure 5 land rovers 22 years old and i left some behind in england i have 4 leafers and a disco 300tdi and i love driving my leafers more than my disco but land rovers lead to collecting more stuff i have 2 fiat 126 go carts a tractor (why i dont know but was a good idea at the time) and a few cars lol

Seems you lot were right, iv now had 2 D90's, 3 Freelander hippos, a TD5 Disco, a V8 Rangie, still got a Freelander 2 thats descent and reliable for now and a cheep 40,000 mile Freelander 3dr hardtop thats an ok toy/runnabout. everything else has **** its self regularly, but its a good excuse to get the spanners out!
