Hello from sunny Yorkshire!

Hello all, recently joined the forum and thought I'd say hi.

I live in glorious Yorkshire (god's own county), in a place called Queensbury, to the west of Bradford.

I have a 1998 Disco 300 TDI auto ex Jap. I've had her for 5 years now and I'm thinking of doing the un-thinkable.... ie. ripping her to bits and building a Dakar Kit.

I have no experience or technical knowledge of doing this sort of thing, so it's going to be fun.... I think. No deadline so I can take my sweet time (just as well as I've got jobs that the wife wants doing first).

I'm sure I'll be asking LOTS of questions on the forum, and I'll be happy to share anything I learn.

Does anyone know of anyone nearby who has a Dakar? I would love to go and see a completed one, pick brains etc.

I'm hoping to be going to Billing this year, so I may see some there.
