I'm totally new to Land Rovers, I was just looking at prices, I need a 4X4 for my job (A beekeeper) I had the choice in my budget of 10K euros of a Renault Kangoo or a Defender, a TD5 00,01 is a similar price. Jap stuff is crazy money as is trying to import a uk vehicle. I'm looking at the above 300 tdi, 35k kms on a 1996, its ex fire service and its like new, nearly new prices though! I'm amazed at the difference unsalted roads make to a LR.
I'm simple home mechanic, service, brakes etc, not sure I'd take on a timing belt though but I'm sure I'll need help in the future!
