Hello from North of the border.

Hi guys, just a quickie to introduce myself to the masses.

A complete Landrover Virgin looking for his first. Finally after years of wishing (and waiting on my old Vitara dying) I am in a position to trade in her second car and get myself one.

I started looking last night at Defenders but have been completely bewildered in what to look for etc.

My budget will be around 9-10K and it will be used mainly on road with only a little light off roading for hunting/fishing purposes. So I am looking for a lower mileage clean machine. Not to bothered about fuel economy but more than likely buy a diesel as there are loads more to look at.

So the next dilemma is where to buy one from. I stopped by the main dealer today but nothing near my price range. So went onto google and found plenty of specialists down South and the midlands but nothing north of the border which is surprising.


Anyway, any recommendations for what to avoid or where to go would be much appreciated. Maybe I will see a few of you some day up at DC if their are many members that go.
