Hi,

I've been a landy fan for about 30 years now. I've wanted one since I was young, growing up in Devon they were everywhere. A friend's dad had one and I remember climbing in the back when I was about 10 to go down the shops when I was over at his house once.

Anyway, I'm currently in the middle of a mild overhaul of a 1970 Honda CB350, so after that it's time for a series landy - most likely either a IIA or a III.

Jules.

Hello and welcome. There's a few from Hampshire already here. Pompey, fareham, hayling, basingstoke. .
Look forward to seeing your series, easier to work on than a CB? :)

CB350 :)

Seriously retro cool

I used to have a CB 100 back in the day, super economical 4 stroker with a god forsaken cable operated disc brake, forever seizing up but it was such a nice little thing with a nice riding position for a commuter machine.

Cheers guys, yep that's more or less what the CB should look like. I'm not messing about with mine too much other than paint. I'm not much of a fan of the 70s colour schemes, so am going with a dark blue metallic. I'm doing all the work myself, except for the media blasting. Check out the progress photos here: https://zzpza.imgur.com/ Only had the bike about 2 months and I've rebuilt the carbs, got a replacement tank, rebuilt the forks, rebuilt the front and rear brakes, painted the tank, painted the fork covers, and got a new headlight and painted that too. Parts are starting to go back on the bike, so hopefully it shouldn't be long now before I can move on to the next project and get a landy :D

Glad to know there are board members near by too. There are a few series landys I see in Basingstoke frequently. There's a nice one that parks under the railway bridge in Old Basing that I've been driving past for about 10 year now, if not longer.

I'm in Basingstoke every Friday for dinner, and er, well, making work for @The Mad Hat Man during the week as we are rebuilding his Discovery pick up, he's running a full size 300Tdi Disco too, when you find your next project be sure to know there are some handy fellas around should need a hand drinking tea and eating your bikkies :D;)
