love it, need to find some greenlanes round here?
any suggestions?

Welcome benno,

You can't just ask where all the greenlanes are, it's poor forum etiquette(and the big boys will pick on you) they are a well guarded secret

Other folk put a lot of time and effort in to researching them, you need to get a map and find them

Don't be offended I made the very same mistake myself on my first post :):)

If its a 2.5td its not a Def.
Join Glass the Green Lane Association, you will learn about green laning and you can use trailwise database to find lanes!
And welcome to the loonyzone there are some other inbreds on here too :)

No thats fair enough i have joined GLASS, and have been looking around on maps and trail wise?
do you rate these am i missing something?

There is good info on TW, takes a while to get used to using it. SW isnt a hotbed of lanes but there are a few good ones about. Whereabouts in Devon are you Benno?

Locations don't get posted because a lot of nob heads just abuse them and get them closed to motor vehicles

Where abouts in Devon are you as I will be doing a lot of research myself when I get closer to the end of my rebuild

Keep an eye out for a group in your area going out on here and ask to tag along.

Other than that, Trailwise and OS maps.......look for ORPAs as well as BOATs but even after finding them the only way to ensure they are legal is to check with your council RoW officer.

Have a look at the stickies in the green laning section :welcome2:

im in cullompton, but around north devon every now and then.
Know it well, my daughter lives in Tiverton. There are a couple of decent ones on TW not too far from you. Not like places upcountry wher you can drive for miles. Lucky to find a couple of miles in fifty miles road drive. Lot of very short ones about too.
Ive no idea about there, but down where I live in west Cornwall I dont really know of any groups laning. Ive just driven the lanes on my own over the years, there are even less than round you here.

i would have thought there would have been quite a few round here, obviously most people have their own farms and fields here not like up north.

I would have thought its pretty good up there, I'm working in willand this week and there dirty land rovers everywhere

I've heard there a few out towards honiton and dunkeswell

But I am concentrating on looking around Plymouth and the south hams at the mo

Thats nothing to do with it. Green lanes are historic rights of way, in some areas they disappeared for a variety of reasons, in other areas the modern roads were built on them. In some placees they survived because peeps took an interest and maintained them and registered their usage, in others not so!Many have also been lost in more recent legislation!
You will find there are a lot of farms and fields up north too, I know, I have worked on some of them:)
Ther is a lot of info about this sort of stuff on GLASS site, have a read, it is interesting.

cheers dude, between here and honiton there is a 4x4 experience place. will probibly check that out at some point.
