Haven't got a Landrover yet but will hopefully remedy that in the next couple of weeks. I'll have up to £2750 that I want to spend a Discovery as a compromise. I want a series 3/Defender the wife wants a Range Rover. It will be used as a daily driver by the wife and by me on a weekend once the shooting kicks in again. I know I'm not going to get anything really decent for that money and the wife doesn't want be driving a mess so I've got a lot of searching to do to find the right one.

Anyway, as a first time (to be) Landrover owner what should I be looking out for and do you reckon I'll get for my money?

My brother has Defenders so won't entertain anything else other than a decent TD5 which I know I won't get for £2750.

i have got a really nice series 3 for that and i use it every day. to me it the best looking one but there are eayser one to drive

Since my first post I bought a '95 M plate Discovery 1 300 TDI ES from a landrover enthusiast. I paid £2200 for it and he chucked in a few bits and bobs as well. It had a full MOT and some tax. It's absolutely solid. Unfortunately, it's spat out the entire contents of the steering box the other week and I've since tried (and failed) to replace the lower seals so I'm now trying to source a PAS box. Other than that, I love the Disco.
