Recently got myself this "little" 51 plate beauty. 120k on the clock (well, pushing 130; im disappointed I'll not get to see it through 123456), drives very nicely as far as I can tell. But I'm totally new to Land Rovers; first (and only) car has been a Volvo estate up until this point.
Needs a couple of bits doing (not in an MOT sense); all the extra lights don't currently work, so need to try and find out why. It also has an old fancy stereo with CD changer and GPS (screen pops out of the dash). But since that's actually a bit rubbish, I want to install a full car-puter instead - there's buckets of space under the front seats.
Also need to find an opportunity to try out the hill descent; just for fun haha.

Hi Naf,

Welcome to the looneyzone. Is the leak from yours?

Amongst the other stuff to look at,

Did you check the rear chassis?
Do you have the EKA code?
Download a copy of the RAVE file , digital workshop manual.
Make sure all your electrics are working, including the HDC . easy enough to check if it should work.
Bit more info on what to check in the buying attachment here.

Cheers

Unfortunately I didn't find that checklist before I bought it, but my mechanic is a land-rover nut so he's had a good look over.

Rear chassis has had plates welded in and undersealed.
Can't find EKA code, unfortunately.
Need an opportunity to test HDC, but all other electrics seem fine.
Mostly all seems fine against checklist
