Hi. Name is Peter and I have been a landy owner for about 5 months now. Never really had the idea of owning one until a friend took one apart and did a frame off restoration to take back to the USA. Yup.. an American in love with a Defender.

I bough my first one (yes... I now own 2) in February. The second one I bought in March.

1989 110 - First one is now all torn apart in my garage and frame is at the blasters/painter. Axles and various bits are on their way this week to be either painted, powdercoated or zinc plated. I hope to have it done this month as I return to the USA here soon and hope to bring it all WORKING again back with me in July.

1988 110 - This one is in better shape mechanically wise but needs some love on the body. Going to bring this one back as well and do the restoration in the USA where I have more time. Needs a 2.5 petrol however (17H) that seems to be hard to find.

Here are some pictures for the current, Ninja Turtle as my kids put it, project.

:welcome2: to the loonyzone, Peter! :)

A number of Americans that are interested in Land Rovers are on the forum. Good to have another! :)

Nice vehicles. What engine does the 1989 landy have?

They both have a 200 tdi. Going to take back both of them I hope and refresh hem in the USA. The one in the white one runs great as I have driven it on a few 2+ hour trips doing 65-70 the entire time. Loud landy at that speed but drove like a champ. Going to dynamatt the Green one all over to make it more quiet.

Nice...was it hard getting it back?
It wouldn't leave. It's still here, sitting all aluminumish in my driveway. I had to get another one just to supply the bits (parts as we call them) to keep the first one moving. Which it does well, in an obstinate manner. It has a very nice sound system.
