Hello all,

I have just bought my son a 1989 v8 Lr 90 to give him when he passes his test 3months away yet (he thinks it's for me) which we are doing up together, he reckons it would look good with a soft top for the summer, yellow paint job and big alloys, so my question to anyone with any knowledge in this area is,

1 How the hell do I make it into a soft top and where do I get a hood to fit ?
2 do I need new dampers with a 2-3" lift springs
3 what size wheels and tyres should I be looking for !

Thanks guys or gals !

Antony

Hello ant.

The best prezzie my dad ever bought me was a pair of trousers with the pockets cut out.

1, Unbolt and de-rivet the hard top. Paddocks, Craddocks, Beam ends etc do hoops and covers but will cost best part of £700 by the time you've finished.

2, Dunno I've been thinking of doing this to mine. It seems that you can either get longer springs or use spacers to lift standard springs. Lets see what any one else thinks.

3, Dunno. Try one of the tyre web sites cant think of one off the top of my head there's loads avertizing in the magazines.

Thanks for your help and £700 don't sound too bad, I would pay it 10 times over to keep him out if a corsa/saxo/golf GTi or any other fast car made out of tin foil that may kill him !

ive just phoned ici at runcorn and told em to make some more yellow paint.
a large batch and be quick.

Prenton, the original Prenton, not everywhere that is now called prenton.
Spent most of my life on the Nocky, grew up there, moved to Prenton, by the Swan, about 6 years ago.
