Hi all,
I bought a '97 P38 HSE a few weeks ago for a few hundred quid, as a project for myself. It was high mileage (about 240k) but the seller assured me the engine (which has LPG conversion) had been replaced and only had about 70k on it. It runs pretty smoothly, especially on LPG, and has passed a block test (loose hose dumped all the coolant last week, now resolved). Bodywork is in pretty good nick. At some point it has stopped starting on the key and has had a push button installed. This seems to have knocked out various systems.
Issues are as follows:
I have downloaded RAVE but not yet had a chance to wade through it. I own an OBD tool with Jaguar Landrover downloads, but haven't tried connecting yet as I'm not sure if disconnecting the LPG kit from the OBD will break it.
I am always prepared to have a go at DIY maintenance, have done an EGR blank and propshaft removal on a Freelander, and various repairs to my Jaguar S Type (am a sucker for unreliable British cars).
Any advice would be very welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Sam

Issues are as follows:
- Roof and tailgate need painting (not a problem, going to DIY it).
- Has a bit of bump steer (going to check suspension bushes and panhard alignment as it has coil suspension conversion with a bit of lift) and excessive outer tyre wear on one side (NSF).
- The remote central locking is not operational (might be the fob battery, but low on the priority list).
- The traction control light is on.
- The fuel gauge is not operational.
- Seems to have battery drain; could be linked to the front windscreen wiper, which does not park.
