Evening everyone,
Having signed up for this forum a few years ago now I think. It’s finally time to introduce myself ;)
Since I will finally be owning a Landy.
It’s been the dream the last few years. But I’ve finally taken the plunge on a Defender 110 td5
Wish me luck, it will be quite the change.

Hi and welcome!

Don’t forget to post some pics of the new Landy and get some decent security for it.

Where in Hampshire are you?

I’ve had a fair few cars since I started driving 7 years ago:-
First car
2007 fiesta zetec 1.25
Then had 2 1998 306’s d turbos (kept breaking them)

2008 Vauxhall Astra 1.9 cdti Sri150

2009 BMW e91 320d se estate which I now need to sell as I don’t have the room or the money for 2 cars, so it’s been a big change shock driving the landy this week :D

Pictures will follow, hopefully tomorrow as I’ve a few bits to do on it :)

And orishaoko1 that would be quite the trip to make, I wish you the best on the naval base and thank you for your service.

From your vehicle history i say your a doozler like me ;)
306's have good Diesel engines but are not HD enough for me, they alway need something.
Only problem with my defender was seats/comfort after did my back in (and chassis was shot:D). Another defender was too pricey whereas P38's are same just more comfortable/refined and cheaper if you don't mind getting oily :)

I couldn't go back to a car

Yeh the 306’s were quite nice, first diesels and a lot quicker than anything I could afford to insure at the time, wound up the fuel and boost on the first one and was like a rocket ship, the 2nd was already pre modified with gti6 brakes, the boost and what not already wound up, and full stainless, it did sound mean. But the Astra with a tuning box was on another level. But the bimmer was completely different again, you’d end up faster than you think because it was effortless speed particularly after a remap. Stepping up into the truck now though is taking some getting use to.

I looked at p38’s a few years ago. Whenever I see one now, makes me reflect on whether I should have done it at the time.

Don’t worry about could have should have would have - you’ve got a lovely example right there already. Many p38 owners will wish they had a 110 like that (just not me I love my p38)

Getting used to climbing up into your truck is the easy part ; getting used to crawling back down in a car to sit on the floor like a dog is the worst. I just refuse lol

Just remember Truck is fine, J**p is not. Don’t say it or even type the word :D

Haha I’m well versed in looking agast when people have pointed at anything landy and said J**p. I’ve got to crawl down into the bimmer to remove a few bits ready for sale, it was already feeling low before I got this.
But you’re quite right I don’t worry too much on the could of would of should of stuff with cars and the like.
