Hi there. My name's Gary and I live in Tayport in Fife, which is basically a suburb of Dundee.

I just bought my first Land Rover, a 1985 ex-mod 110 h/t that brings a big cheesy smile to my face everytime I drive it and/or just look at it.

I'm trying to de-militarise it a little in that I painted out the black camo stripes and have added blind spot windows and because I work for Michelin, I just got a brand new set of BFG A/Ts on her as part of our 'service tyre' allowance. I also swapped the militry steel wheels for big, shiny 8x16 silver modulars and with the 265/75/16 boots and the alloy steering guard, it gives her one helluva road stance.

Anyway, like I said this is my first Landy and not being too mechanically minded, I guess I'm in for the ride of my life! And I dare say that I will avail myself of the shared technical wisdom and expertise to be found in places like this on quite a regular basis!

Looking forward to being a part of the green oval community!

She's a 12V. Nice and simple.... like me! I see you're a member of EMLRA (as was the chappy I pried her away from), know where I can get my hands on the army-type wing-top raised air intake pipe? I just bought a snorkel (supposedly for a n/a !) and it has a side entry connection, so I'm gonna have to 'adapt' it to fit. I saw the fitment the army use and that would solve so many problems, but I imagine they are like gold-capped hens teeth!
