Hi there,

I've just bought a 2002 Defender 110 TD5 Pickup from my boss, it has some starting issues, worse when cold. I have read various forum posts about such problems and looking for a recommendation for a mechanic near to where I am. I'm in Dumbarton/Glasgow in Scotland - anyone recommend anyone local?

Car is starting with a spray of easy start into the air intake.

So far changed have been:

- Fuel filter housing
- Fuel filter
- Fuel pump
- Glow plugs

Not sure about the earthing straps but I did try connecting a jump lead to the engine block and it didn't help things.

Hi, you'd likely get more help using the correct forum, now you've introduced yourself ..

I'd say check the leak-off pipes between injectors, the 'fluffy' pipes, they crack and leak, letting air in ..
