    Hi there,

I've just bought a 2002 Defender 110 TD5 Pickup from my boss, it has some starting issues, worse when cold. I have read various forum posts about such problems and looking for a recommendation for a mechanic near to where I am. I'm in Dumbarton/Glasgow in Scotland - anyone recommend anyone local?

Car is starting with a spray of easy start into the air intake.

    So far changed have been:

    - Fuel filter housing
    - Fuel filter
    - Fuel pump
    - Glow plugs

Not sure about the earthing straps but I did try connecting a jump lead to the engine block and it didn't help things.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, you'd likely get more help using the correct forum, now you've introduced yourself .. ;)

I'd say check the leak-off pipes between injectors, the 'fluffy' pipes, they crack and leak, letting air in .. :)
