Heinz 57 P38A

I have a 1999 P38A with a much later sport front end. Not done by me I might add, but I like the front, but not so keen on the rear. Suggestions on a postcard please...... Now how do I get these flippin' photos uploaded

I like the front, it works for me. See what you mean about the rear but don't really know what else you could do.

Interesting (not quite my cup of tea), but it looks very nicely done. Must have cost a PO a fortune...

I'd probably put a grey vinyl band between the rear lights, which may make the rear end appear more cohesive?

Hi Smithy, mate I got a thick skin, I'm a bus driver & also run a car club. I know some will hate it, but that's their problem

Hi Rob, it belonged to a body shop owner, as far as I can work out from the details of the private plate transfer paperwork. Can see what you mean about colouring between the rear lamps. Down side is, that what looks black, is actually a black tinted lacquer over a metallic orange base, changes colour in the sun. But thanks for the idea, I'll work with it and see how it goes... Watch this space!

Despite what others may think about "modernising" the look of a P38, I think its a well executed cosmetic upgrade and quite pleasing to the eye.
Pretty looks and P38 guts. Not a bad combo really.

Very trick on the paint

I like the RRs floating roof - I wonder whether the A, B, C and D pillars ought to be dark grey to restore that effect?

Thanks Dan, I like it, .that's all that really matters to me Just need to get it serviced, some matching tyres (my OCD is going nuts) and sort the audio & interior, especially the roof lining (as it's been pulled down to fit a video screen for the rear, but not put back very well)

Yeah, thinking about that too, as the door frames & apertures need painting anyway, due to scratches & a bit of dodgy looking carbon vinyl wrap on the B posts.

Colour is a bit marmite though

Maybe a lower bumper section, dare I say, diffuser for the rear? Nothing brash just a nice formed extension to bring the line down. have to drop exhausts a little. Just to match the front level like

Yeah I think a fatter rear bumper would bring a bit of balance. I gotta sort the exhausts anyway, it's a standard looking system with some nasty, rusty chrome tits that have been welded on the p!$$.

Nice range, I do like white

do a bit of photoshopping: Black A and D pillars, a black band between the rearlights, exhaustpipes that come out straight rather than angled and a diffusor under the bumper to lower the line. And loose the reflectors if you can.

Bin the lights on the tailgate if possible and the dodgy looking reflectors, i'd put a gloss black band between the rear light clusters the height of the clusters across the tailgate to break it up a bit along with smithy's bumper and pipe suggestion, along with a re-colour of the roof pillars as rob said! Might fancy some sort of black tread plate on the wear area of the rear bumper as well if it were me

A little alignment of the margins on the front and a bit of fettling and it'll look rather smart as long as you like the Essex paint job

I will happily supply the match and petrol foc to burn it......my eyes hurt now
