I have asked this question before, but didnt get a response. It could be that nobody knew what I was talking about, so thought I'd try again with a pic. I know where the other end of the harness connects too, But was hoping someone could tell me where the wires on the top of the relay go too? (see pic) The very thin green/yellow one I'm almost certain goes to the same coloured, and gauge wire on the remains of the harness that came with the engine, but can someone tell me where the very thin black wire goes, the plain white wire, and the red/white wire thats in the pic? I guessing at least one must go to the ignition switch, but which one? or do they both go to the switch? any help on this would be much appreciated.

I think I'm ok with everything else now, but would like to rig up the plug harness incase of extreamly cold weather.

Hi mate

not 100% sure

i think black one is earth

white is permanant live

white/red is switched live

green/yellow to switch
I was thinking something on those lines too. If thats right, (and I wont hold you to it lol) the white one will go to the battery, the red white one would go to the ignition switch, the black to a convenient earth point, and the green/yellow one to what switch? I could just connect it to the same colour wire I have on whats left on my harness and see how it goes, as it must go to that one being the same colour/gauge.

Maybe I'll put inline fuses on them all just incase it's wrong. Thanks for the replys guys.:)

I've just seen where your from. We go to the new forest quite a lot. mainly the 'sandy balls' camp site in godshill near fordingbridge. Are there any good lanes around your way? I'm thinking there must be some corkers in the new forest.
If I can get my engine in, up and running by the 2nd december, I'll be down with the landy for a short break. The way it's going though I'm not holding my breath, it's slow but sure seeing as I'm doing it all on my own. :( But will deff be down for much of the spring/summer. :)

Hi mate

yeah connect the green/yellow to the same wire on the harness.

There are quite alot of lanes around this way, havn't done any laning for ages as im fully rebuilding my 90. Building mine on my own too, seems to take forever.

ok, thanks for that. And yeah, tell me about it, I just finished restoring mine before I decided to ditch the V8 and put in the tdi. Will I ever get it finished? lol. Maybe when we both do we'll have to celebrate then and meet up and do a lane or too. Perhaps you can show me some around your way when your ready?
