heater oring and open cheque book

Just started to strip the centre of dash so i can do my heater o'rings this all seems Tobe going well will finish this tomorrow. I have had intermittent open cheque book for the last year usually turn ignition on off sorts but today it stayed on comes on instantly i have full temperature control both sides but no distribution control so whilst in the area i thought the flap for distribution might be jambed removed the servo but found flap functions by hand very easily. Stripped servo no broken teeth. Any idea's on what else it could be?

Could be the potentiometer inside the gearbox that's shot Andy..it gives feedback to the HEVAC for the flap position. There's a post on here from fanatic this week and he has a new one available FOC.
Usual procedure for replacement is to cut the cable to the motor and splice the new one into the old lead using soldered and heat shrunk joints..saves pulling the centre console apart.

andy good to see your winningmate,i,ve started on mine today but removing the ductingout of the way was doin my head in looks like i,m going to be chopping it up tommorow

i recon i can do it with out cutting the duct i have taken out the hevac panel and sat nav panel released the 2 duct screws (drilled hole) with my very long screw driver thru the hevac panel opening i will release the heater pipes if not i will cut the top of the duct!
