hi all

after discovering a pink leak in driver's footwell I found a comprehensive 3 part guide on youtube

I have removed all the interior trim parts, cut holes in the plastic panel to gain access and can see the two pipes dripping

I ordered the two new o rings from the dealership in Nelson, I asked if they could post them. The chap from parts asked where I was and when I told him he said he would drop them off on his way home. Considering the parts only came to £5 I was taken aback. What great service!

Anyway I am unable to loosen the clamp retaining screw as it appears to be seized, looks like the leak has been going on for a while and seized the clamp assembly. I am worried that I am rounding off the head.

any ideas?

Thanks

Mart

Get some plus gas on it, WD40 is not penetrating oil.
Mine was the same, got a cross head screw driver which was a good fit and had a hexagon on the shaft.
Push on the end of the screwdriver as hard as you can to keep it in the head and use a ring spanner on the hex to turn it. If it moves, work it back and forth until it free's up.
If it is completely seized it may break off and will have to be drilled out.
I was lucky with mine. Took my time and worked it until it came out. Best of luck.

Use a 3/8 extention bar x 2 with the right screw attachment , that way you can get enough pressure with the rachet and you can gently loosen to and fro , don't be to eager wait a day or so keep soaking it in penitrating fluid a few taps on the head can help brake the seal on the threads little at a time ;)

feck.... i just took the side panel off and cut through took about 20mins to get to used long cross head and job done in about 2 hours although the screw came out farly easy concidering its been there 15 year

If you were able to read not just following a comprehensive video you could have saved a lot of work:jaw::bolt:

I did indeed have a look for similar posts, I just thought the video guide was useful.

I decided to remove the dashboard because the clamp screw was seized so I wanted even better access to it.
