heater not hot

Hi guys anyone give me advice,my heater is only blowing warm on a short ride to work , only about 2 miles it's still only just warm is this normal or have I a problem, I also have a book symbol on my screen near the heater controls , any help please , mick .

Hi, its probably a blend motor sticking,if you have the book symbol. needs diagnostics to establish fault.Also 2 miles isnt very far to warm heater core in this weather.Where is temp gauge when you arrive at work?

Thanks for reply , the gauge is showing normal right in the middle ,I thought that at first not far enough for it to get warm , if it'sblend motors I guess that's a big job ? I'll try and find a garage with the equipment to do a diagnostics in my area if this will pin point the problem thanks .

Changing the motors is not difficult,just a little fiddley. the thing is that you need to know what is happening.there are 3 motors,1 for heat each side and 1 for distribution to face and floor . it could also be the HEVAC unit itself. someone should be able to put it on diagnostics for you and clear the faults,then when it re-occurs,it willl tell you the fault then you can repair it.
