Heater Motor

Can someone kindly explain why the heater fan motor to fit the Defender is more expensive than virtually all other makes and models of vehicles, given that it 10x worse!!!!!

I'm at a loss!!!!

I wonder if you could modify the casing to use a fairly large PC fan instead. They're 12v and move a fair amount of air at full speed.

12v bilge blower has been done and it doesn't mind water
