heater matrix and fan

Sorry if this has been asked a million times before.....

1991 RRC 3.9 V8 auto.

New radiator last summer.

Losing coolant and wet driver's carpet. Used some Radweld and coolant loss stopped and carpet dried up.

Now, coolant loss again and soggy carpet.

So, I need a matrix. Found this one: Heater Matrix 89-94 (Britpart) STC250 Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order. surprisingly cheap (which I am happy with, as long as it is good enough).

Do I need anything else, such as new pipes....?

The fan has only worked on III since last summer, so I assume I need one of these: Heater Resistor (Britpart) DA4178RESISTOR Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order.

Tell me this is a half day job and not going to be a complete nightmare....

Not to bad, took me about an hour to strip the dash out of mine, then an hour to get the heater box out. Twin carb so had to take air intake off, lye across the engine to get between engine and bulkhead to undo the two jube clips that hold the pipes onto the back of the heater box. Doable but would suggest 2 man job as most of the dash has to come out.

i think it is easyer to just take the dash apart to remove the heater assembly...if you are going to replace the heater core...give yourself more than a day...if you rush it ..could be a problem if the future...takeing the assembly apart is not that big a problem...but putting it back can be a challenge...i just replaced the motor blower...i took some pics...but i has a garage and took my time...i also bought another blower assembly from a scrapper so i rebuilt that first and then replaced it...
