what size fuze are you running it off a cut nail or summot ive never heared of them doing that

you have far too many amps being pulled through that :eek::eek:

which heater are you talking about ? the cabin heater doesn't have numbers just an infinitely variable knob (ooer), and uses coolant from the engine to provide heat.

Some freelanders were fitted with a ptc ceramic heater as well, which assists heating the cabin before the engine has warmed up. as far as I know, this is either on or off, with no temperature setting available.

if it's the ptc heater, maybe there is a fault where 2 of the 3 coils are not working, meaning all the current goes through 1 coil, which could make it glow red hot...

might be worth checking the coils with a multimeter for resistance.

good luck.

oh no
just checked all the fuses and all correct ampage
im led to believe tho when you insert green heater switch back in the fan cools it down!
im gunna contact the people who supplied it and see if they can shed any light
thank you

yes spunka
the green resistor block
three spring type
each speed on fan does a differnt spring
im sure when block is in heater exclousure it cools each element

they will get worm they are a resistor. not red hot they will burn out and a bit dangerous
sounds like you have a short
your fan may be knackard and drawing to much current

No its right there is a thread recently about this, the coils are cooled by the air from the fans, if you have them out and run the fan they will burnt out, on a MG I had I replaced the coils with proper resistors, although they get hot they would not burn out after about 5 seconds, very common issue!
