Heater fan vibrating

Hi, I've bought my self a disco 2 it's a 2004 landmark td5 with Clare control. The heater fan is vibrating like mad when I switch it on. I was thinking I've got a disco 1 1996 300tdi standard. Would the fan off my old disco fit on my new one? I've had a quick look at them both they look similar but don't no whether it will fit are not. If any one could help please. Just need to no whether to buy a new fan are are not. Cheers

i have a 2001 td5 a couple of years ago my heater fan was making a hell of a noise . it turned out that the foam filters that run along the top of the engine bay bulkhead deteriate with age and fall out and some small twigs and leaves had got in the heater fan causing the noise i replaced the foam with fine plastic mesh. not to much of a job to drop the heater fan down and clean out the debris hope yours is as easy.

I'll check that at weekend when I have a look Alan. The foam is missing in places and falling to bits so it could be a good possibility. Hopefully it is just that. I'll get hol of some fine mash to replace the existing foam well what's left of it.

Mine done this when I bought it
On the two faster speeds it vibrated badly and made a noise
But it was just a bit for crap in the fan putting it out of balance
Just removed the fan took the crap out and put it back in
Job done

Need to do that with mine! ...
