Heater core replacement

Still working on the P38. Replacing the heater core which was broken.

I have the new core in the matrix for for the life of me cannot get the pipes to seat correctly to screw the bracket on.

Am I missing something? It's so close but just won't line up.
 
Well I figured I'd update this in case anyone was having a hard time falling asleep.

The pipes from the engine bay just wouldn't line up. Someone has been in there before and I guess got things out of wack.

So I cut the ends off the pipes and put them into the heater core and then tightened up the bracket.
Actually much easier to deal with doing it outside the car anyway.
I'll just get some coolant hose and make the connection to the cooling system through the firewall.

Some members have fitted the LHD Audi matrix to do away with the O ring problem.A search should give you the post and part number.;):D
