I stripped down my heater box, cleaned it up, painted it and I am away to put it back together.

However, there was foam in various places and I cant quite remember where / why.

Can anybody advise? What type of foam should I be using?

I'm not talking about the bulkhead to box foam BTW, but the foam on the baffle flaps in the heater box its self.

Thanks

Camping mat does the job, use a decent glue, Iirc its mainly to seal around the internal door and possibly insulation?
The most important but when putting it back is to adjust the door control cable so it fully shuts with a little rpessure applied by the dash lever, makes the heater a lot better.

The foam makes sure that the matrix is a snug fit and that when air is directed through it, it does just that and does not find its way around the edges.
Also on the internal flap for the same reason.

As above, any suitable foam will do but make sure the glue is heat resistant as the matrix contains coolant at engine temp (88deg on average) and you don't want the foam coming off later. Also the flap / cable adjustment, a few minutes spent here is well worth it in the winter.
