hi all. i have just bought a classic 200 tdi.the only problem is the heater only blows cold air? can you help (please) where do i start.cheers steve

Airlock could also be the culprit. Is the Radiator cold at the top? Dirty die sels aren't my strong point, but I'm sure an airlock will have the same effect.

As Wil says too, heater matrix could be blocked, but a missing Thermostat would really only mean it takes ages to heat up. A jammed Thermostat could be the problem. :)

As said , first find out if there is water going to the heater at all . Then open all the heater controls to full , unclamp header tank and hang as high as poss with string from open bonnet and fill up . Run engine , see if any air bubbles back out of tank . Fit a new stat cos they is cheap . Bleed air out of bungs replacing with brass central heating ones while there . Come back when you done all that and tell us what happened .
