Hi all if I wanted to fit some heated jet washers would it be ok to wire them to the heated front windscreen wiring. I don't have the heated screen but I do have the switch now. It is a 2005 model. What are your thoughts.

Much less hassle just to get the -60degree windscreen wash from Lidl.

With heated jets- the bottle and pipes can still freeze and block.

Also without the low-temp additive ordinary wash just freezes on the screen.

I had them on a BMW - a waste of time - but looks good in the brochure though.

Thanks for the replies. I have the neat stuff in the bottle but nozzles still froze. When checking the pipe just behind the nozzle they are not frozen. So I am thinking that heated jets and neat stuff in the water will do the trick. I would not bother with the mod but since there are wires in the engine bay for the heated windscreen I could tap into them no need to route wire through the bulkhead. Well Ill think about it more but the sooner I do the mod the sooner the warm weather will arrive :).

It depends whether the wiring is live or not, either a heated screen or a PTC heater is fitted using the supplimentary fuse box.
A common wiring harness is used, but may not be connected.
