Hello -
I went to drive my 95 Range Rover at night and after going a few hundred feet or so the lights went off for a second or two then came back on. This repeated itself several times and I got the car back home with the fog lights. Once the car was driven for awhile the headlights seemed to stop turning off. Everytime the lights went off, I could hear a clicking noise. I think the problem is a reostat or relay switch but which one? Note: I took the RR to the Landy dealer in Schaumburg, Illinois and they couldn't find the problem... Can anybody help?

sorry to ruin the sensibleness of the fred but i had similar prob. was the switch. contacts were ****ed. wiggle switch about to see if its prevokes it

I'd agree with Driving Mad. I have just had exactly the same prob on my 300Tdi Discovery. Playing around with the light switch does indeed highlight the problem. I managed to buy a replacement light and wiper stalk on Ebay. Hope this helps.

Same here on a 98 V8 Discovery, switch was fooked, not putting dash lights on and one headlamp was on dim/dip when the other was on main dipped beam, wiggled the switch around a bit and all was well.

Bought a new switch and all is well again, was going to buy second hand but what's the point, it might be knackered too.

New switch cost me £72 + VAT, but the lights work correctly now!
