Head gasket failure?

I was driving home the other day and the engine started to overheat and there was a loss of power going up a slight hill. Pulled over and the top radiator hose has worn through in two places and there is a squeal from the water pump.

What are the chances that the head gasket has survived this experience? Slim to none I guess. Should I replace the pipe and pump first and then see what happens?

If it was me, i'd do the pump and the pipe,making sure i talk nicely to the car as i was doing it and then keep my fingers crossed.....
