Hi I rescently bought a set of HD standard height turrets from paddocks, on fitting them I noticed they are not handed eg:they are both the same. I called paddocks and they said they are supposed to be that way. So I installed as they said using the same orriginal holes and mounting positions. This meant the turrets both face the same way, which looks odd. I enquired if they should be mounted in any particular direction and they said it does not matter. I kept them like this for a few weeks but it was bothering me everytime I opened the bonnet as it just looked weird. Then I thaught hang on what if I drill extra holes on the turret to create a left and right one, so I did this and now they look more exceptable, has anyone else had a simaler experience with them? I did wonder if it would be good to drill new holes in the chassis, so they could be mounte parralell, but paddocks insisted they were not intended to be used this way. How have other people mounted their HD turrets?
Another problem I rescently noticed is the shock absorbers do not sit centred in the turret mounts and are not equal on each side?? I am running +2" springs and standard length shocks, with an adjustable panhard rod, but standard radius arms so far. What bothers me is not that they are not in the centre, as this i presume is as I dont have caster corrected radius arms, but that the fact they are not equal on both sides. I think I have the panhard rod adjusted correctly, if I adjust it to make the shock position equal on each turret the wheel will stick out more on one side. I bought the adj PH rod to correct this problem after I mounted the taller springs.
Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this, thanks for the tips, Jim

turrets are handed as std ,neither have been the ones ive fitted ,how are you going to adjust panhard rod ,its fixed ? in which way arent shockers central front to back ,or side to side ,one pointing to chassis other to wheel ?
