Good morning all. Can anyone help with Hawkeye cables I have the one that comes with the unit and I bought from a well known site cable no BA5074 as this I was led to believe will connect to ESA. No it wont ? Ok so phoned Hawkeye this morning and lovely lady says no you need cable no BA5074. Not in stock and not likely to ever be again. Ok so how about the update cable ? A yes cable no BA5079 off she goes to speak to Harry at tec.... A cable no BA5079 Not in stock and not likely to be again. so how do I refrain from throwing the expensive equipment in the file 13 and selling the p38 4.6 1997 RR with only 94k on the clock and a trail of bills I know you will be aware of. PS Love the car.

Good day Mark How are you all. TBO t
The bus is ok now but I got this kit to read a fault in the suspension and it cant so thought sum one on hear can give me the heads up. It was slow to get up originally but I got a rebuild kit for the valve block and that improved it to say it is ok now but a bit pd off at Hawkeye as it says BA5073 is for ESA but it don't work. I had a though that it might be the diagnostic its self needs updated and will buy the BA5079 if that is going to be the answer.

All good here John Thanks. How are you two doing?
The weather is naff and mud everywhere.. Which is actually not that bad but...
The nanocom as Tony says is a great tool and is quite an indepth piece of kit.
I've never used the Hawkeye setup, I'm sure it's not bad but depends on your needs I suppose. Anyhow, before spending more money do a bit more research to see if the lead is indeed what you need. Take care and keep warm now it's Flipping autumn... ;)

All you need for the EAS is the free EAS unlock software from Storey Wilson and a cheap cable off Datatek on here. Send the Hawkeye back. If you want more than EAS then Nanocom is the most popular. There's Lynx too but doubt it is as comprehensive.

Good morning all
Success this morning the ESA cable BA5074 is the correct one thanks Harry!! But the ESA is not in the mane menu but sub menu at chassis. Thanks to all for the help. And Hawkeye for the instructions!!

The kit is ok I think Hawkeye may not be as good as nanocom but I find it a bit less complex. Also it takes a bit of confidence to go into the workings of these overly pampered self defeating electronics of these design classic cars. Well this is my fifth P38 so as Gillian says what else would you be doing?
